The S4 has a similar CV setup as the MD4, making it easy to upgrade for more strength, up to 750UP in the sand. All mounting holes are identical, same CV height, and the transaxle is the same width, putting the CV flanges in the same place so the same axle length as the MD4 is used. The transaxle comes with the shifter to adapt to your car. Routing of the shift linkage is the other area that differs from the MD4, so that needs to be carefully engineered, insuring you have room to orient the cable.
This transaxle is also a little larger in the transmission area, a little longer and a little taller. This increased case size in the front area of the case is to accommodate larger transmission gears.
